Joined NFER in 2003 and has worked mainly on school improvement and school effectiveness research including evlauations of Beacon and Leading Edge schools as well as Specialist schools.  Has also played a central role in team evaluating the Excellence Challenge/Aimhigher initiative.

Currently working on the evaluation of the New Relationship with Schools (NRwS), a review of the use of National statistics across the UK, a study to identify how young people make choices at 14 and 16 and a mapping study to establish whether Citizenship Education meets the Department of Constitutional Affairs' priorities.

Completed a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Psychological Research Methods at University of Portsmouth.  After graduation worked as a Research Assistant at Southampton Medical School evaluating the educational benefits of the 4th year project within the Bachelor of Medicine course and subsequently carrying out an evaluation of the General Practitioner placement for 5th year medical students.  Shortly after, managed an adult education learning centre at a further education college.
