Eurydice at NFER

Eurydice at NFER provides reliable, comparative information on education in Europe to support and enhance the policy making process. Our services include:

  • A targeted enquiry service for policy makers
  • Current awareness bulletins and briefings to inform policy makers, and others, of new developments in education in the UK and overseas.

As part of the European Eurydice Network, Eurydice at NFER also contributes information on the education systems and policies in England, Wales and Northern Ireland for inclusion in Eurydice Network products.

Eurydice at NFER is sponsored by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS), the education departments in Wales, and Northern Ireland (DENI and DELNI), and the European Union under the Lifelong Learning programme.

Based at the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER), Eurydice at NFER is the national Eurydice Unit for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. A separate Unit for Scotland is based at the Scottish Executive.

INCA
In addition, the Unit manages the International Review of Curriculum and Assessment Frameworks Internet Archive (INCA) which provides descriptions of the education systems and of the curriculum, assessment and initial teacher training frameworks for pre-school, primary and secondary education in 20 countries worldwide. This Internet Archive is funded by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) provides the funding for the sections in initial teacher training. See our INCA page for further information.
