Helen Marson-Smith joined NFER in June 2008 as a Research Officer in the Research, Evaluation and Information Department. She has worked on projects for a variety of clients including LGA; National Strategies and the Gatsby Foundation, as well as an internal NFER project relating to the foundation’s recent work in the area of 14-19.
Prior experience and professional background
Prior to working at NFER, Helen was a Research Officer in the Department of Education at the University of Oxford, working on a variety of projects in 14-19 and vocational education. She has a PhD in Sociology from the University of Warwick, for which she focussed on gender, social class and decision-making by 16-18 year olds in an independent school.
