Sarah has expertise in relation to 14-19 education. She is currently one of the project leaders managing the national evaluation of the implementation and impact of Diplomas for the DCSF which is ongoing until 2013.  She also recently led research which explored the development of the 14-19 Prospectus and the influences on the choices young people make at age 14 and 16. Sarah also leads other areas of research, including that in the field of health education and promotion, which has included projects relating to healthy eating, sex and relationships and tobacco, alcohol and illegal drugs.

Prior experience and professional background

Between 1994 and 1998, Sarah studied at the University of Surrey for a degree in Sociology. Her degree included a one-year student placement between 1996 and 1997 as an Assistant Research Officer at NFER. Sarah then joined NFER as a full-time Assistant Research Officer in 1998 after graduating and is now a Senior Research Officer.
