Simon worked for the NFER between 1993 and 1997 as a researcher and has recently returned as the Acting Head of the Research, Evaluation and Information Department.

Prior experience and professional background

Since leaving in 1997, he has worked for six years at the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA), managing the teacher training market in England and as the Head of Education at the Wellcome Trust. He has also worked with a number of professional and statutory bodies. In each of these roles he has worked directly with senior colleagues and been responsible for liaising with and briefing CEOs, Vice Chancellors, senior civil service staff and Ministers.
