Dissemination

NFER has an experienced communications and publishing team devoted to the dissemination of research findings to various audiences. Our team includes professionals with expertise in publishing, marketing, web development and press/media communications.

Your project leader will discuss the objectives for any dissemination activity with you. These might include, for example:

  • disseminating key findings to policy makers and practitioners, through identifying approaches that can bring together, summarise or simplify the results of research to make them more understandable and accessible to different audiences
  • using established networks and partnerships to share information, promoting good practice and stimulating further research.

Unless you specify otherwise, we will also use our free promotion channels to disseminate the results of your project. These are:

  • a promotional banner on our website’s home page (which receives over 50,000 visits per month) for a limited time as appropriate, with click-through to further information about the project and a link to the full report
  • an email to all relevant contacts with a link to the summary and full report on the NFER website
  • production of a press release, to be targeted at print, broadcast and online media and selected trade press
  • promotion in our monthly email alert, nferdirect, which has over 1500 opt-in subscribers, and details work under way at NFER
  • if appropriate, publication of an article in our six-monthly research magazine, Impact: NFER’s research news for schools, which is distributed free to schools, local authorities, university libraries and other organisations (circulation: 7000).

Our dissemination team would be happy to discuss any further options if required, such as production of a colour flyer, paper mailings or inserts for delegate bags at conferences, and can provide costs for these on request.
