Statistical work

NFER's Statistics Research and Analysis Group is the largest group of statisticians in the UK focusing on educational research. Our staff are highly qualified and experienced, with a range of backgrounds and we have both a national and international reputation for providing support in the analysis of quantitative data. We are consulted by government departments and international bodies, and our statistical input is crucial to the success of most NFER projects. We can give you the help you need with your research, through:

• helping plan research
• providing advice on collecting appropriate data
• developing new methodologies, and keeping up to date with the latest statistical techniques
• determining the right way of analysing data to address research issues
• helping to locate existing relevant datasets
• analysing data, often to tight deadlines
• explaining the results of analysis clearly
• presenting results to a variety of audiences
• providing training in the interpretation of statistical data.
