practical research for education is the NFER's bi-annual journal for education practitioners. It is written especially for headteachers, students, researchers, academics and classroom teachers and has become a popular and respected publication within the education sector.
Articles show how the results of up-to-date research have practical implications for teaching and learning, school management and policy. Each issue features at least one article dedicated to primary, secondary and special school readers. Leading researchers and theorists are interviewed in the Profile article in each issue. Recent interviewees include Tim Brighouse, Louise Stoll, Edward de Bono and John MacBeath.
The Tool-kit series provides advice to people carrying out research projects. Articles in this series so far are 'searching for literature', 'Planning your research project', 'Introduction to sampling' and 'Are you asking the right questions?'.
practical research for education is published twice yearly, in spring and autumn, by the NFER. Please note, however, that the conclusions drawn and the opinions expressed in practical research for education are not necessarily those of the NFER.
pre online, found at www.pre-online.co.uk, allows you to select and download the findings of practical educational research projects of your choice.
