Standard setting and test equating for the PRINCE2 OTE Practitioner exam

Standard setting and test equating for the PRINCE2 OTE Practitioner exam

Client: APMG | NFER Contact: Simon Rutt

The NFER has recently undertaken an evaluation of two possible methods of standard setting for the PRINCE2 Practitioner OTE. Though both of the two methods trialled (Direct Consensus and Bookmark) proved workable for this exam, the Direct Consensus approach was preferred by APMG, and NFER was commissioned to carry out a further standard setting exercise using this approach on a new test paper (EA33) prior to the paper being used operationally. Additional work has also been commissioned to select common items on the Foundation exam to aid in test equating new Practitioner forms. We are also working with APMG to produce a stakeholder information pamphlet for APMG to distribute to their stakeholders explaining standard setting and test equating processes. The report will be confidential to APMG.

Time scale: April 2009 – March 2010

NFER Project Code: APN
