EMIE at NFER
EMIE is a dedicated information service for local authorities across the UK. We support staff working in education and children’s services to network, exchange information and share expertise and effective practice. All EMIE’s services are available through our website, mostly through the password protected area designed for local authorities. These include an enquiry service, a unique document database (emiedirect), current awareness bulletins (Synopsis), themed digests and email discussion forums. Services available to any website visitor include reports, research briefings and a guide to acronyms. more information>>>
NFER Library
The NFER library and information services are open for local authority staff from Monday to Friday. It offers information packs on educational issues tailored to your requirements, free briefings for Councillors, email updates and a web-based current awareness service. The NFER/LGA partnership enables the LGA and Central Bodies to select research topics that address priorities for local government. This results in around 20 publications each year, which are published and promoted by the NFER to a wide range of audiences. For more details, see the LGA pages.
